Why Crochet and Knit?

Why Crochet and Knit?
It feels good to work with beautiful yarn colors and textures!

Knitting and Crocheting is “portable” – take it anywhere!

Provides a sense of accomplishment when you complete a project.

If you have arthritis, knitting or crocheting help to keep the fingers limber.

Knitting and crocheting helps stave off Alzheimer’s

Adds balance to a high-tech, fast-paced, stressful lifestyle.

Many agree that the repetitive movements of knitting and crochet activate the same areas in the brain as meditation and yoga
such rhythmic repetitive acts help prevent and manage stress, pain and depression, which in turn strengthens the body’s immune system.  PRLOG

I spent many hours crocheting when my husband was in hospital. I have almost finished my blanket inspired by this one created by the wonderful Dottie Angel ♥
It's perfect weather for crochet today, don't you think?   Leah

Agreed with all your points.
I honestly believe they should teach knitting and crochet to those with depression.
There is just so much to be gained from just sitting and knitting (or crochet).

Lovely post. I've been working on my knitting throughout the day- a row or two between tasks and it helps me to focus my thoughts. As a bonus, I feel like I've done something just for me at the end of the day.

I just love crochet at the moment! I have recently re-learnt the art, and I am just about through my first useful thing other than dishcloths - a lovely floppy beret, can't wait to be able to use it!!! Maybe then I'll to to sleep earlier at night!!!
